ERC grants: Bordeaux celebrates the 10th anniversary of the European Research Council
The ERC is celebrating its 10th birthday. Over this past decade, 32 researchers on the Bordeaux campus have been awarded with an ERC grant. Let’s take a closer look at this European research program.
Created in 2007, the European Research Council (ERC) was created in 2007, and plays a unique role in the European world of research. It enables outstanding researchers, regardless of their seniority, to obtain substantial funding for an ambitious, original research projects that span over ning several years.
The Bordeaux campus and the ERC
The Bordeaux campus counts 32 grantees since 2007, and 35 grants awarded to around twenty structures and research units covering numerous scientific disciplines: chemistry, physics, IT, biology/health (neurobiology, cardiology, epidemiology, genetics, etc.) as well as astrophysics, history or plant biology, etc.
