Before your arrival

All researchers must comply with the conditions concerning the right to stay and work in France. For international researchers wishing to stay in Bordeaux, the main steps to follow are outlined in this summary table which provides information concerning the formalities to complete according to nationality and the duration and means of funding of a stay. If you are a scientist-researcher on mobility in Bordeaux, you should obtain the following in the order below (please note that these procedures also apply to your partner and children if they are accompanying you).

Hosting agreement

The hosting agreement* specifies the purpose and dates of your stay in France, and thus determines the duration of the stay. It shows that the holder has sufficient funds to cover the costs of the stay and of repatriation. The signing host institution must make sure that the concerned party has health coverage and civil liability insurance.

Extending your stay
