29 Juin 2015 – Oeno 2015: 10th International Symposium of Oenology of Bordeaux

12 h Bordeaux, Palais de la Bourse

From the 29th June until the 1st of July, the ISVV (Vine and Wine Science Institute) Oenology research unit of the University of Bordeaux is organizing the 10th International Symposium of Oenology of Bordeaux.

In 1963, to mark the occasion of the 100th anniversary of Louis Pasteur’s wine research, the 1st International Symposium of Oenology of Bordeaux was created. Since then, the University of Bordeaux’s Oenology School, ISVV, regularly organizes (every 4 years since 1995) an international symposium gathering scientists and researchers working in the field of oenology.

The symposium, which takes place in the prestigious setting of the “Palais de la Bourse” in Bordeaux, is highly anticipated by the international wine-making community. In 2011, the symposium gathered 300 participants from more than 20 countries and resulted in much publicity and buzz.

Oeno 2015 will present fundamental knowledge, innovations and applications based on the findings of five research topics dealing with vine and wine:

  • Plant and environment
  • Grape quality
  • Grape and wine microbiology
  • Wine chemistry, processes; wine components with physiologic effects
  • Sensorial analysis and consumer interface, metrology, psychophysics, neurophysiology.

Internationally recognized guest speakers will speak about their specific experiences in the fields of neurosciences, chemistry, microbiology, vine sciences as well as human and social sciences (cognitive psychology, experimental economy and history). These wine-related experiences will help identify prospects regarding the evolution of oenology over the next decade.
