Climate: let's get involved!
For the 50th anniversary of Earth Day, for the first time, the University of Bordeaux is dedicating a day to the climate, called “Climate: let’s get involved!”, in collaboration with its partners, Sciences Po Bordeaux, Bordeaux INP, Bordeaux Metropole, and CROUS (Regional Center of Student Social Services).
Following the COVID-19 outbreak, this event has been postoned
Universities have a crucial role to play in addressing the environmental and societal challenges of today and tomorrow. On the 22nd of April, on the occasion of Earth Day, the University of Bordeaux is mobilizing its community around the climate crisis by dedicating a day to the climate. Students, staff, and local stakeholders are encouraged to participate during events and activities which will focus on responses to the climate change emergency.
The University of Bordeaux Climate Day will be an opportunity to take some time out and brainstorm on how environmental issues are included in the university’s missions and other activities. Climate Day will be a strong symbol of the university’s commitment to limiting climate change, and it will also be the moment to set specific goals to tackle this key societal issue.
April 22nd - agenda:
- Debates and discussions to co-design the actions the university community can lead: How can missions be adapted — education, research, and innovation — to the challenges of environmental changes? How can behavior be modified to reduce the environmental impact of activities?
- Various activities to help determine positive environmental actions already taking place within the university community and to provide an opportunity to formulate a clear commitment to fighting climate and environmental crises.
These events will take place on several campus sites within the Bordeaux metropolitan area as well as in the surrounding region of Agen and Périgueux.
