The University of Bordeaux: ranked in the world’s top 100 most innovative universities

For the first time ever, the University of Bordeaux has been ranked within the world’s top 100 most innovative universities (Reuters). Placed 5th amongst the French universities listed, our University is listed n°80 in the Reuters ranking (published on the 23rd October 2019), thus contributing to the very strong overall French performance.

In June 2019, the University of Bordeaux was ranked n°24 in Europe’s top 100 most innovative universities (Reuters).

With this ranking, the Reuters information agency awards establishments according to their scientific progress and their outstanding new technological inventions and which thus contribute to worldwide economic growth.

France posted the « strongest rise in the 2019 ranking ».

France is the 3rd best represented country in the world’s top 100 most innovative universities ranking with a total of 8 establishments listed (compared with 5 in 2018). 1st place goes to the USA with 46 institutions listed and Germany is placed 2nd with 9 institutions.

According to Reuters, “France has carried out an in-depth reorganization of its higher education system these last years, bringing together smaller establishments. These developments are now proving efficient”.
