Welcome to our international students!

Every year, the University of Bordeaux organizes a variety of activities to help international students get settled in to campus life. This year, given the sanitary context linked to COVID-19, the integration experience has been modified and is proposed in a virtual/hybrid format to ensure that our international students still receive the warm welcome they deserve!

The University of Bordeaux welcomes approximately 7,000 international students each year. With ongoing restrictions (travel, quarantine, social distancing, etc.), linked to the COVID-19 pandemic, the number will surely be lower this year, in particular concerning international students arriving from outside the EU (consult the article "Student exchange mobility for the Fall semester 2020-2021" for more information).

However, for those students who will be arriving to Bordeaux in September and later in the year, the University of Bordeaux has planned a variety of welcome tools and events to ensure a fun-filled integration period while respecting the health recommendations.

Throughout the year

For any questions related to their stay, international students are invited to contact the Student Life Centers - SLC (Bureau de la Vie Etudiante) and Mobility Services (International Office - for those within an exchange program), located on the main campus sites. Information is available on topics such as registration processes, student integration, French classes, student file management and follow-up, scholarship and accommodation requests, Erasmus program agreements, etc. Different university services may also be indicated should students have questions about financial support and grants, health, social, culture, sport, leisure, etc.
