Welcome to our international students!
Every year, the University of Bordeaux welcomes approximately 6,200 international students. Find out about our year-long welcome services and activities that ensure our international students feel at home on the university campus sites from the minute they arrive!
Before you arrive
In July, the welcome guide for international students is sent by email to the international students to prepare their arrival and to answer their practical questions (residency permits, accommodation, social security, housing insurance, campus maps etc.) The guide may also be downloaded from the university website and hard copies are available at the Mobility Offices (International Office) and at the Student Life Centers (SLC). In addition, the SLC sends out an information mail that deals with initial questions that international students may have when arriving in Bordeaux (transport from the airport/train station, French language classes etc.).
Make the most of our Student Mentor system which consists of a French student who mentors an international student to help with his/her integration in Bordeaux. During the year, mentors and mentees may participate in a variety of activities (tour of the city, games, traditional dishes, etc.). Connect to the Student Mentor website and find yourself a mentor to help you get settled!
